In 1986, the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act was passed, putting in place a system called the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP). This is a no-fault program that compensates those who have been injured by a vaccine. It essentially lets manufacturers continue to distribute vaccines, while providing compensation to people who suffer injuries.

What Serious Injuries Have Been Linked to Vaccines?
